With the growth in the number of Assets on the DX, it would be highly desirable to be able to create folders that Assets can be stored in that can be nested. Today, we have over 1,200 Public Assets that are in a flat structure. We have filters but could we do more?
I believe that the answer is yes. We can create a folder like structure using tags the same way that Google Mail does this. But to do this, it will require the ability to build nested tags. For example, an oracle financials asset could be tagged as:
Financials
Oracle
Accounts Receivables
Oracle Financials
Accounts Receivables
When the user enters, they would see a folder called Financials, that has a second folder in it called Oracle, with a third folder called Accounts Receivables, this is the folder that would contain the Asset. At the same time, there would be a second top-level folder called Oracle Financials, that contains a second folder called Accounts Receivables with the same Asset in it.
Internally, the asset would have to folder tags could be shown as:
/Financials/Oracle/Accounts Receivables/
/Oracle Financials/Accounts Receivables/
